The compact case is built from solid walnut with a shallow drawer that rides on hand-fitted wooden runners, topped by one cast-brass knob. Below the drawer, an open lower shelf holds a tiny lamp or book, and the four turned legs taper gently to small feet with a soft bead near the top.

Every surface receives several thin coats of hand-rubbed linseed oil, dried between applications, so the walnut grain stays visible and the edges feel smooth rather than sharp. The proportions are borrowed from simple mid-century nightstands — low, square, unpretentious — scaled faithfully rather than stretched, and each piece is finished in small batches.
