A hand-carved miniature rocking chair in a warm cherry finish, built at 1:12 dollhouse scale with smoothly curved rockers and a woven cane seat. It carries the worn, comfortable look of a chair that has held real people for decades — shaped one carving pass at a time in our small workshop.

Details

The frame is carved from solid cherry, chosen for its deep reddish warmth that darkens gently with age. The two rockers are bent and shaped by hand to a continuous curve that lets the chair sit steady rather than tip forward, and the back slats are carved with a gentle bow to suggest a comfortable spine line. The seat is woven cane, hand-laced in a simple grid instead of a printed texture.

Every edge is eased by hand with sandpaper before several thin coats of linseed oil bring out the cherry’s tone. Because the rockers are curved pieces rather than straight blocks, each chair sits slightly differently, and that small variation is expected in a hand-carved piece built in small batches.
